i am missing Kelly and Saol so much... can´t wait to visit oamaru and chillawhile again. i travelled to new zealand for just having fun with strangers and what was happened: i found a new family with Kelly and saol. I miss u both.... Nurcan

I had a great time at Chillawhile. I met some fantastic people and had so many laughs. The pot luck dinners were fab and almost finished me off every time as there was always so much great food and tons of it!!!! Chillawhile was not only a place to relax in but allowed me to get in touch with my creative side. There are fun things to do in Oamaru and I like many others felt it was hard to leave behind. Kelly thank you so much for your hospitality and for your creative encouragement. No trip to NZ would be complete without a visit and I would encourage everyone to find out for themselves what a great place this is. It's more like having a family and home than a hostel. I'm sure Chillawhile can only get even better and I look forward to the day I can come back and re-live some of the happiest moments in my trip to NZ.

truly a home away from homes. I can't say enough good things about this place. we were supposed to stay for 1/2 weeks but ended up staying for a month!! i met the best people and had so many good nights out, the place is a real hidden Gem. thanks Kelly xx

 That was about a year ago... I met Kelly and Saol at Chillawhile and stayed almost three months wih them. Fantastic memories... and will always remember this part of my trip in NZ!! Hope one day I'll come back to Oamaru, meet great people, have potluck dinner, see the pinguins, the efelant rocks ;)Thanks to Kelly, Saol and Heather...

After being on the road for nearly a year, this hostel is by far one of the best and the most unique I have stayed at. The people I met here were 'real' travelers, with a great sense of creativity, fun & adventure. Its just a pity I couldnt of stayed longer!!!! Thanks Kelly & of course, Saol, for making Oamaru one of my New Zealand highlights!!!

They say to not come back to a place cause it's never the same, but three times in Chillawhile, three good moments with such interesting people. Mhh, i can't forget these big and comfortable beds more than welcome after 1 year of traveling, the lovely and friendly and yummy pot luck dinners, the sweet Kelly and cheeky Saol. Chillawhile has been a place of share and love, a home in New Zealand. Thanks a lot for all it brought to me xxx

Funky, creative, really exciting concept for a backpackers hostel. I felt really at home and that I could create without fear of criticism!! Worth the trip to Oamaru, especially for the drumming lessons. Oamaru grew more on me every day - I stayed for 1 month at Chillawhile and it was tough to leave!! Thank you for the highlight of my trip!

i traveled pretty much all over New Zealand but haven't seen any place like chillawhile before! it's an awesome place to be: i love the hostel, the warm and soulful atmosphere, the people and of course oamaru! honestly, it's been the best hostel i ever stayed in. in fact, chillawhile is more than just a hostel; it's part of my journey. i highly recommend to go there and see what it's like :D
